THIS IS ME! (cue The Greatest Showman Soundtrack)
April Danae Gaddis is the name and writing is the game. You may have figured this out from my blog, but I actually got my start at writing through songwriting. My husband and I are part of a music duo called From A to Z. You can check us out here!
Not only am I a writer, wife, and singer/songwriter, I am also a lover of Jesus. This is actually probably the most important thing I could tell you about myself. Jesus Christ saved me when I was 7 years old and
ever since that day He has been the best thing to ever happen to me in my entire life.
I am also a lover of unicorns, movies, dogs being walked, kids dancing, and my husband Zachary.
5 years ago I married the love of my life, Zachary Gaddis. Before I met Zach I had never been in a relationship with anyone else. Heck I had not even kissed anyone! I was super independent and ready to conquer the world. I always wanted to get married, but not until I was at least 30. I mean I had stuff to do with my life right?! Then Zach came into my life and the rest is history. Even after all of those movies I had seen where the girl and guy end up together, I never could have imagined that marriage could be this amazing. I never thought I would actually want to always be around someone, or that my heart would ache so bad when I am not with him. Miss Independent died hard to say the least.
BEING A WIFE IS SO MUCH MORE THAN I THOUGHT IT WOULD BE.
I think one of the reasons I love wifehood so much is because I am married to such an amazing man. He loves Jesus and me with all his heart. However, Zach is not one of your typical men of the church who thinks that women should be silent and that the man is the “head” of the house. Zach is so secure in himself that he allows me to be myself. I am more outspoken and opinionated than him. Instead of trying to silence me, he actually listens to me! He values my opinions and treats me with the utmost respect. I could not be more grateful.
Through our marriage so far we have done a lot of traveling, moving, and learning. I am learning how to be a good wife, how to prep for motherhood, how to be healthy, and I am currently learning how to make a living from home!
Do you ever feel unheard, unappreciated, and unseen? Do you wish that you could change some things about your life? Your job? Your marriage? Your finances? I find today that most of us are not truly living the life we envisioned for ourselves, but we are merely existing in a life that we never asked for. Wife in Real Life is dedicated to giving you advice and inspiration on how you can change your situation and have fun! Don’t live with what you have settled for, live with what you deserve.
